Creating a romantic bedroom

Valentine's Day or not, we should be inspired to create a romantic feeling in your bedroom. Here are 5 quick and easy steps to create a romantic feel to your bedroom in no time.

PAINT

Paint can turn your bedroom from blah to WOW! You want to use warm colors in your bedroom. Romance is about keeping things hot in the bedroom, so use a warm color on your walls, there are many different color palettes to choose from.

BEDDING

Bedding is another place where you can turn up the romance. Soft, silky, and plush fabrics evoke a romantic feel. When searching for the comforter, duvets, or coverlets, make sure that the items don't look like something that would come out of granny's room. Keep it classy and tailored, something with a nice pin-tuck or a little bit of pattern will do, and don't forget to layer-layer-layer.

LIGHTING

Lighting always sets the mood, whether in the bedroom or not, make sure you have plenty of ambient light, and use dimmers on your switches to easily adjust the lighting. Candles will give the flickering lighted ambiance that you will love. If you want to go all out, replace the drab ceiling lighting with a sparkly chandelier.

ADD FLOWERS

Flowers instantly say romance! Adding bouquets of fresh flowers or even a single bloom in a vase will help create that soft, warm, and cozy feel. Add a bit of sparkle with glass/mirrors for that little extra detail.

DECLUTTER

Clutter kills the moment: De-clutter your space. If you don't have room to put all your items away or displayed them in an organized fashion, go through it and pare your stuff down. If you haven't looked at it or used it in the last year, toss it.
